SME will lead the development of Pennsylvania standards-aligned K–5 ELA content with strong integration of the Science of Reading (SOR), STEM literacy, and UFLI phonics. The SME will collaborate with instructional designers and multimedia teams to develop engaging, inclusive, and accessible asynchronous learning experiences.
Scope of work:
- Develop grade-appropriate ELA curriculum grounded in SOR principles.
- Ensure alignment with Pennsylvania ELA Standards and UFLI phonics for early grades.
- Integrate cross-disciplinary STEM themes into reading and writing tasks.
- Collaborate on interactive, multimedia-rich lessons (Canvas LMS-ready).
- Support creation of scaffolded learning activities, enrichment, and remediation.
- Design assessments (formative, summative, performance-based) with rubrics.
Required Qualifications:
- Master’s in Literacy, Reading Education, or Elementary Education.
- 5+ years of K–5 teaching or curriculum design experience.
- In-depth knowledge of SOR, UFLI, and state/national literacy standards.
- Experience with Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and accessibility standards (WCAG, ADA).
- Familiarity with Canvas LMS and asynchronous pedagogy.
