Instructional Designer- US Based

Program Overview:

As an Instructional Designer at Hurix Systems, you will play a critical role in ensuring the design and development of high-quality, engaging, and effective digital learning solutions. You will be responsible for reviewing content against instructional design guidelines and quality checklists, ensuring adherence to established norms, and maintaining high instructional and design standards. You will collaborate closely with internal teams and clients to drive quality assurance, support instructional alignment, and ensure compliance with defined processes.

Key Responsibility Areas

Instructional Design & Learning Science

    • Define course and unit-level learning outcomes aligned to learner needs and business objectives.
    • Design interactive, learner-centered digital content including eLearning modules, simulations, videos, and assessments.
    • Apply instructional design models and adult learning principles to optimize cognitive engagement and retention.
    • Integrate theory and application in designing formative and summative assessments based on outcome mapping.

Curriculum Mapping & Alignment

    • Map learning outcomes to program-level competencies and broader skill frameworks.
    • Ensure instructional alignment across objectives, content, activities, and assessments.
    • Conduct gap analysis and resolve misalignments in content structure or learning flow.
    • Use curriculum validation tools, spreadsheets, or alignment matrices to document consistency.

AI Collaboration & Prompt Engineering

  • Refine AI-generated drafts using prompt engineering and editorial techniques.
  • Evaluate when to regenerate vs. revise AI outputs based on instructional and structural quality.
  • Collaborate with content automation workflows to enhance design efficiency and output reliability.

Content Integrity & Quality Control

    • Review content for factual accuracy, instructional effectiveness, tone, and accessibility compliance (e.g., WCAG 2.0).
    • Use defined quality checklists, versioning protocols, and editorial standards to validate and finalize deliverables.
    • Conduct RCA (Root Cause Analysis) and implement CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions) when quality gaps arise.
    • Ensure word count, formatting, and design fidelity constraints are maintained without compromising learning value.

Stakeholder Communication & Collaboration

    • Collaborate with SMEs, editors, and project managers through multiple feedback rounds.
    • Present instructional logic and rationale clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
    • Manage iterative edits across multiple versions with transparent documentation and tracking.
    • Support knowledge-sharing sessions within the team and onboard new members on content quality processes.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or a related field.
  • 4–8 years of experience in instructional design for digital learning.
  • Skilled in creating virtual storyboards (VSBs).
  • Experience with LMS platforms like Canvas and D2L and CMS platforms like AEM.
  • Strong grasp of instructional design theories, adult learning, and skill-based learning models.
  • Comfort with using AI tools in content development and prompt-based editing workflows.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects with evolving client needs and tight timelines.

Preferred Skills

    • Experience with Agile or iterative instructional design cycles.
    • Familiarity with scenario-based learning, gamification, or adaptive learning systems.
    • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams on high-volume course development.
    • Strong written communication, critical thinking, and stakeholder alignment skills.
