The uptake was phenomenal, achieving a 95% completion rate and significantly improving incident readiness across their employees. 

Given the high-risk environments in which the client operates, they faced a dilemma – how can frontline readiness be ensured in these situations? They had received a lot of feedback that, in addition to traditional PowerPoint slide decks and lectures, more engaging forms of safety training were available. The employees seemed to find less isolating and real life hazards.

The older methods of training did not allow workers to develop the capacity to respond to actual hazards. Hurix Digital built a set of role-play based modules that provided an immersive safety training environment for potential emergency situations, such as chemical leaks, equipment failure, safety violations, and other scenarios that could put their works’ safety in danger, all in a safe, online mode. 

Learners have to navigate through realistic situational scenarios, make decisions when it comes to key points, and receive real-time feedback on those decisions. The training is SCORM compliant, and integrates into the local LMS of the client. As a result, Safety teams and safety leadership demonstrated visibility and inclusion across the enterprise. By leveraging immersive experiences, workers are learning hands-on and beginning to develop critical reasoning around their decisions and capability of seeking assistance to apply reasonable safety protocols in real time. 

The numbers speak for themselves: a 95% training completion rate, with workers indicating improved confidence to identify hazards and improved ability to engage in safety protocols and respond to emergencies as they developed. Eventually safety leaders had begun to identify stronger adherence to procedures and a much more proactive safety culture.
